MAKING EVERY THREAD COUNT

Beacon Laundry is a jobs-focused social enterprise commercial laundry first founded in Bangalow, NSW. Our mission is simple. We’re here to create local jobs, career pathways and a workplace where people from all backgrounds can thrive.

Less than one year in, we’ve created 70+ jobs, 80% of these are for people who have previously been shut out from work; we have some of the region’s most reputable hotels on board with us; and, we even had the PM pop in for our official opening.

The goodness we’re spreading in the Northern Rivers has made ripples all the way to Adelaide, where a second Beacon Laundry has just opened its doors. Find out more about the local team.

At Beacon Laundry, we’re less about profit, and more about people, purpose and the planet.

OUR WHY

We believe employment has the power to change lives. Yet for some, getting a job isn’t easy.

If you’re living with a disability or mental illness, you’re a former refugee or First Nations person, you’ve experienced homelessness or spent time in the criminal justice system – it’s much tougher.

As a job-focused social enterprise it’s our mission to create jobs and career pathways for these individuals, giving them an equal chance to thrive through employment.

OUR VALUES

Our values guide and shape every big and small decision and action we take at Beacon Laundry.

People are at the heart of everything we do.
Care is part of every interaction.
Community is our backbone.
Planet is our priority.

A SOLID TRACK RECORD

This isn’t our first rodeo. The team behind Beacon Laundry is White Box Enterprises.

They build large-scale social enterprises from the ground up, lead innovative systems change initiatives, and offer expert advisory, financial and property services to help existing social enterprises scale and grow.

In five years, White Box has helped enable more than 800 new jobs, incubated four social enterprises, raised $51M in blended finance for job creation projects, and partnered with the federal government to deliver Australia’s first Payment By Outcomes trial for jobs-focused social enterprises.
