Cycles of goodness in SA

A second Beacon Laundry has officially opened its doors in Adelaide, South Australia, under the management of Bedford Group.

Today Beacon Adelaide employs over 100 people, and services many businesses across the healthcare, aged care, hospitality and accommodation sectors. The expansive site in Adelaide’s south has the capacity to increase its volumes, which means more jobs for people who need them most.

If you’re a local Adelaide business ready to make the switch to good, please get in touch with our team.

At Beacon Laundry, we’re less about profit, and more about people, purpose and the planet.

The backstory
of Beacon Adelaide

After seeing the magic unfold in Bangalow, Bedford – South Australia’s largest employer of people with a disability – saw an opportunity to bring the goodness of Beacon to Adelaide.

Together with White Box Enterprises, Beacon’s parent company, Bedford is now transitioning the existing commercial laundry into an open employment social enterprise under the Beacon Laundry banner, and we couldn’t be happier.

Like us, Bedford believes employment has the power to change lives. Over the next three years Beacon Adelaide aims to create an additional 50 jobs through its expansion plans for people who face barriers to employment. Alongside the work of Beacon Bangalow, we’re pretty excited to see the combined impact the two laundries will create together over the coming years.
